| Building sustainable businesses is now the most prominent issue for the profession. But it is not just about building a sustainable business, it is also about reporting on that sustainability and providing assurance over that reporting. New requirements from the EU to extend the number of entities required to make sustainable reports and an extension to the nature and scope of those reports have been published. ACCA invites Irish members to contribute to the debate. As you may be aware the EU has published the Corporate Sustainable Reporting Directive and the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment (DETE) has published a consultation document on the implementation of the Directive. ACCA is planning on making a submission to DETE and we are anxious that your voice is heard. To ensure our response is as broad a representation as possible we would really appreciate your comments and feedback on the proposals by e-mail to aidan.clifford@accagglobal.com. Please email your comments by COB Monday 7 June, we will collate all feedback and they will form the basis for our response to the consultation. Consultation on the Scheme of the Consumer Rights Bill Also open for consultation is the Scheme of the Consumer Rights Bill. The Bill will bring together existing provisions on consumer contracts and put some matters that were Regulation on a statutory basis. Here are links to the Consultation Paper and the Scheme of the Bill. Responses directly to the Government should be made by 30 June or to be considered to be included in an ACCA response, sent to aidan.clifford@accaglobal.com by 14 June. |
